In southern Germany close to the borders with France and Luxembourg, Mettlach offers a very different outlet shopping experience. Unlike tlarge contemporary shopping malls which offer hundreds of brands, Mettlach offers nine outlet stores each housed in their own town centre building and clustered around the central market place by the banks of the beautiful River Saar.
Mettlach is home to the headquarters of the luxury tableware company Villeroy & Boch (VB) and their outlet store provides a showcase for their porcelain, crystal and cutlery; including their latest vivo brand. The town also houses the VB museum, providing a fascinating insight onto the changing habits and styles of dining from Art Nouveau to contemporary settings. The home ware bargains available in Mettlach continue with Vossen’s luxury towels and bathroom accessories and Silit’s range of cookware; while discounts of up to 60% are available on international fashions brands such as Lands End, Laura Ashley and Zucchi of Milan.
As a special treat, Mettlach also has an outlet store for Gubor, the luxury German chocolate maker. The Gubor chocolate cafe also offers a range of drinks as well the opportunity to sample their range of speciality chocolates.
